Rules and Regulations

1. Have fun. In a perfect world, this would be the only rule, but, as it is, it is still the most important. This fed is meant to be low-pressure, with an easy-going atmosphere and friendly competition. Keep in mind that this is a game. If you have issues, hit me by email, PM or on AIM and it can be dealt with.

2. FWL runs weekly shows called FWL Wrestling!. These shows are largely made up of “jobber matches” where your character will face generic cannon fodder. The results for these shows will be pretty bare bones. These shows are to forward storylines in preparation for the monthly shows. Once a month FWL runs a special show, FWL’s Showtime. These will be marquee match ups that will either end or continue feuds towards our seasonal PPVs. The results for Showtime will be more in-depth Approximately every three months, FWL runs Pay Per View supercards, the most important of which is called “Supercard.” PPVs will have complete detailed results.

3. Roleplaying for Wrestling! is not mandatory, however the card for Showtime will be based on who RPs for the first Wrestling! of the month. Nothing is written in stone here. This will be the basis for the card, but we are going for an all-inclusive thing here.

4. FWL is a cumulative fed. That means that the winner of the match at Showtime will not be the one who has RPed the best since the last Wrestling!, but the one who has RPed the best that whole month. The PPVs will also be cumulative from the entire period after the last one.

5. There is no maximum to the number of RPs you can post, but there is a three RP minimum for every Showtime. That is less than one RP a week. If you can’t handle that load, perhaps a knitting club would be more your speed?

6. Hulkamania-era WWF is the model for what we do, but it is not a limitation. Think of it like this: If Wrestlemania 3 is WWF turned up to 10, we can go to 12 or 13. We are based in reality, but a reasonably loose definition of that reality.

7. As it is the 1980s, a certain amount of decorum is required. This is family TV, dammit. Sex exists, and violence is certainly prevalent, but consider what is appropriate for the time. Hardcore wrestling does not really exist yet.

8. No using other people’s wrestlers without their permission. Just that simple. If you don’t have their permission, don’t use their guys. No exceptions. If you need additional characters, use the backstage personnel listed on the website. If you need more background on any of them, let me know.

9. Winning and losing is based on your roleplays and their quality, which is judged by me. I am a big fan of quality. Crap? Not so much. Every now and then, someone might have to lose when they RPed the best in order to further storylines. No one will win every single match. It is, however, possible to lose every single match.

10. Strats are highly encouraged, but not mandatory for Wrestling!. However, any strats submitted for the month’s Wrestling! shows will be taken into account when determining winners and losers at Showtime and Pay Per Views. As with RPs, quality is the way to go with these. It can be in-show interviews or promos, or something during matches. Get creative.

11. No real wrestlers. Everyone competing in FWL needs to be an original creation. That said, characters who are e-wrestling in the present can be used, but they need to be adjusted for the time, If you handle a veteran in the present, he would be a rookie in FWL. We can be flexible with the numbers, though.

12. The management (me) has reasonable veto power over storyline and character ideas. Just trying to keep things delightfully retro.
